This unique way of designing bikes is the brain child of returning soldiers from World War II. These returning soldiers found a liking to the light weight motorcycles that were developed in Europe. In order to get this lightweight feeling returning soldier bike makers started stripping down bikes developed in America and removing those parts that were unnecessary and could weight down the bike. Thus, bobber bikes were created.
