Exciting Features Of The Buell Chopper

Posted by: Kenny  :  Category: Motorcycles

The Buell chopper is not one of the ordinary bikes you see on the streets every day, it is a custom bike with a similar design to those bikes famous in the 1960’s and 70’s. Notable features of an ordinary chopper include extended raked forks, custom suspension and a thinner wheel at the front compared to the rear wheel. This chopper however has different brakes and forks compared to ordinary choppers. The Buell can be referred to as the bridge between ordinary sport bikes and choppers. It has a Sportster engine mounted in an exotic sports style chassis resulting in a rather unique power machine. The sportster engine is usually tweaked to give it more power.

The chopper is available as a plain chopper or a fighter chopper. This chopper is one of the favorite among chopper enthusiast because it can be transformed to an ultimate street bike. The three main reasons why Buell has achieved such status include a striped down skeletal styling, ease in handling and deep throaty sounds produced by the engine. The Buell Company refers to these choppers as naked sports bikes following their philosophy that it is shameful to cover powerful metal with glossy plastic flairs. This leaves the twin V Engines exposed much to the delight of chopper lovers. With the exploding spluttering noise made by the chopper on the road, many people are drawn to like them. The engine makes a loud rumbling and putting sound commonly referred to as torque. Even a small chopper can wake up a whole neighborhood. This huge sound makes even the least exciting Buell more glamorous.

A Buell Chopper is usually perfect in terms of handling reception on the road. It is one of those bikes that can turn in one spot. The super handling capabilities are brought about by concentration of weight around the centre of the bike. Components such as suspensions, engine and exhausts are aligned in a way that ensures this. Concentration of weight on the center reduces the amount of stress usually left on the frame, which results in the better handling capabilities for the rider. Finally, Buell chopper frames also add to the strong points of these bikes. A typical frame is usually lightweight while still maintaining the required rigidity. This also serves in increasing the ease of handling the bike even when fitted with a wide rear wheel or very high handlebars.

Other great points of these choppers include reduced weight of all components independent of springs and shocks. This allows the bike to maintain road contact even in uneven surfaces. Chopper enthusiasts know that a lighter bike makes a better chopper. With this regard, Buell has designed all its chopper models with a single-disk front break system. This helps in reduction of more weight. With all these exciting features, the Buell gives any rider a rather cheap, sharp handling machine to show off. With the current trend of striping down choppers, a Buell Chopper looks perfect. Some Buells are striped down and then combined with Harley Davidson’s parts giving them a strong futuristic look.
